Beach Body Unidentified

The body of a man found at Rosses Point beach early yesterday morning still remains unidentified this afternoon.

He was wearing swimming trunks and had not been in the water very long, according to gardaí.

They said today that there are no reported missing persons in the country fitting the description of the man believed to be aged between 50-65.

They confirmed that enquiries have been made at hotels, hostels and bed and breakfasts in the locality to no avail.

The discovery was made at 6.45 yesterday morning, in the water at the first beach in Rosses Point.

The mans clothes were found nearby but there was no personal effects, car keys or identification with them.

Gardaí in Co Sligo say the discovery of a man's body this morning is not being treated as suspicious.
