Teen in Court Over Hit-And-Run

A 17-year-old is due in court today in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Dublin yesterday.

The 23-year-old victim was knocked down on Husband Road in Bluebell shortly after midday.

He remains in a serious condition in St James's Hospital today.

The teenager arrested in connection with the incident is expected to appear in court later this morning.

Man Charged Over Waterford Assault
A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Co. Waterford at the weekend. The incident happened in the centre of Dungarvan on Saturday. The man who was assaulted suffered serious injuries and remains in a critical condition in Waterford Regional Hospital. The 27-year-old was charged at Portlaoise District Court today.

14 Arrested In Connection With St Patrick's Day 'Violent Incident'
Fourteen men have been arrested in connection with a "violent incident" in Mullingar on St Patrick's Day last year, Garda have reported. The men, ranging in age from late teens to mid 40s, were arrested on Wednesday morning by officers investigating an incident in Dominick Street, Mullingar, on 17 March 2015.

Woman Charged Over €75k Cannabis Seizure
A 34 year-old woman is due in court following the discovery of cannabis worth €75,000 in Athlone. The suspect is detained at Athlone Garda Station. She will appear before Athlone District Court today, Monday 20 January.

Youth Charged With Murder Of Brazilian Man
A 17-year-old youth has been charged with the murder of a Brazilian man in Co Meath. Claudio Fernandes (33) died in Beaumont hospital in Dublin nearly two weeks after being found with stab wounds in Duleek on July 29. The youth, who is also Brazilian and cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Dunleer District Court today.

Man Pleads Guilty To Murder Of Catherine Gowling
A man has pleaded guilty for the murder of Irish vet Catherine Gowing. Ms Gowing, originally from Clonlee, was murdered in Wales in October 2012. Ms Gowing's body has never fully been recovered, however remains were found near her home in New Brighton. Clive Sharp, 46, pleaded guilty to her murder at Molt Crown Court today.
