Woman Killed In Weekend Crash

A woman in her 40s has been killed in a collision in Dundalk.

The female in her late 40's was fatally injured when the car she was driving lost control and left the road colliding with a sign post.

Emergency service workers pronounced the woman dead at the scene and her body was removed to Louth County Hospital in Dundalk.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Gardai in Dundalk are investigating the fatal collision that occurred late on Friday night, shortly before 10.00pm at Dromad, on the old Dundalk to Newry Road.

The scene has been examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has reopened.

Gardai at Dundalk are appealing for witnesses who may have travelled the road between 9.40pm and 10.00pm that night and who may be able to assist them with their enquiries, to contact them on 042-9388400.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Cyclist Is Hit By Bus
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a cyclist was hit by a bus in south Dublin. According to gardaí, a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bus while cycling at about 21:40 on Burlington Road on Monday night. She is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Dundalk on Thursday, 10 December. A 69-year-old man died in hospital following the collision on the Inner Relief Road in Dundalk at about 17:00, garda have reported. It is understood the man was driving a car that was involved in a collision with a bus.
