Three Killed In Separate Traffic Collisions

Three men died in two separate road traffic collisions yesterday.

Two men were tragically killed after the pick-up truck in which they were travelling collided with a tree in Tipperary. Both men were brought to Tipperary General Hospital.

One of the men, a 26-year-old, who had been a passenger in the vehicle at the time, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The second man, a 35-year-old who had been driving the vehicle, was also pronounced dead shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening.

Gardai at Cahir are investigating the collision, which occurred at 9.15am yesterday morning at Ballysheehan, Cashel, Co Tipperary.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

In a second separate incident, Gardai in Bruff, Co Limerick have launched an investigation into a two vehicle collision at Newtown, Bruff, Co. Limerick.

A 34-year-old man died as a result of the collision, which occurred shortly after 6.00pm on Monday.

The 34-year-old and two other men were brought to Limerick Regional Hospital after the van in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a truck.

The truck driver who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was not injured.

Gardaí have asked that anyone who may have witnessed either collision to contact the respective

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Man Receives Serious Injuries In Co Galway Crash
A man has received head injuries in a serious single vehicle crash in Portumna, Co Galway. The collision happened at around 6.30am when a van collided with a bridge. Three men in the van were uninjured, however one man was taken to Portiuncla Hospital, where his injuries are described as serious. The road has been closed for forensic examination.

52-Year-Old Man Killed In Single Vehicle Collision
A 52-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision in Co Kerry. The collision occurred on the N86 between Ballintaggart and Dingle at approximately 3.20pm on Wednesday, 10 August. The man was injured when the minibus he was driving left the road and struck a ditch.
