Residents Warned Over Council Imposters

A series of burglaries has prompted warnings to residents to be on the look out for an imposter con.

Gardaí at Clondalkin are advising residents in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas to be vigilant after a number of similar burglaries over the weekend.

There were three separate instances of burglary where imposters gained access to houses by claiming to be employees of South Dublin County Council, making an excuse of checking water pressure.

The contacts they made seemed genuine and seemed more so as they wore South Dublin County Council high visibility jackets.

Anyone who may have doubts regarding the authenticity of callers in this area can ring the council on 01 4574907.
