Wicklow County Council Issue 'Do Not Swim' Notice
A 'do not swim' notice has been issued for Brittas Bay South, after water quality tests found high levels of Ecoli and intestinal enterococci.
It is understood that heavy rainfall has been causing problems at a number of beaches with water treatment facilities overflowing.
Issued by Wicklow County Council, they said that further tests will be carried out today, with results expected on Saturday morning.
Fingal County Council earlier lifted a no swimming ban at public swimming areas across north Dublin.

Temporary Water Outages In Co Kilkenny
Residents of Stoneyford, Co Kilkenny have been warned of temporary water outages due to essential repairs. Kilkenny County Council said that repairs would be carried out from 21:00 on Wednesday, 19 August until 17:00 on Thursday, 20 August. Water supply to the Cherrymount area in Stoneyford will be affected.

Swimming Ban Lifted On North Dublin Beaches
A swimming ban on 12 beaches in north Dublin has been lifted, Fingal County Council has confirmed. The no public bathing ban had been issued after water quality tests showed that the water was unsafe, following heavy rain that caused water treatment plants to overflow, sending untreated water back into the ocean.
