Man Seen Running From Howth Killing

Gardaí have issued a public appeal for witnesses to the killing of a woman in Howth in Dublin, after a man was spotted running from the scene.

Officers say they are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen a male acting suspiciously in the Windgate road or Carrickbrach Road or the summit area of Howth between 9.00am and 10.30am on Monday morning.

The male is described as being of slight build and between 5'10 and 5'11 in height wearing or carrying a balaclava.

Gardaí have launched a full scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman in her 40’s who was discovered with serious injuries at a house in Howth.

It is believed she had been beaten with a brick, and was found on the patio on the house at Windgate road.

Following the discovery was made at approximately 10.00am yesterday, the woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital where death was pronounced shortly before 11.00am.

The scene is preserved at present and the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been carrying out forensic analysis at the site.

An incident room has been set up at Clontarf Garda Station and anyone with information to offer is asked to contact 01 6664833.

Two Swimmers Rescued By Coastguard
The Irish Coast Guard has saved two people after they were stranded on the cliffs at Balscadden, Howth Head. An emergency call was received by the Irish Coast Guard about two men who had been swimming were caught by the current, however the pair managed to reach rocks nearby. A tourist raised the alarm after hearing the men shouting for help.

Howth Death Probed
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her 40s who was initially discovered with serious injuries at a house in Howth. The shock discovery was made at approximately 10am this morning. According to RTE, gardaí were called to the house following reports that a violent robbery was underway.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Louth Woman Knocked Down And Killed
A 54-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Co. Louth on Sunday night. The woman was struck by the vehicle around 11pm at Farm Road in Annagassan, Dunleer. The incident is being investigated by gardaí from Castlebellingham.

Gardaí Renew Appeal Over Remains Found At Dublin Recycling Plant
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for help in identifying the remains of a man found at a recycling plant in Dublin in July. The human remains were found on 31 July at Thornton's Recycling Plant on Killeen Road, Ballyfermot. Gardaí say that they believe it to be a European male, aged between 25 and 45 and approximately 5'8" to 6' tall.
