Howth Death Probed
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her 40s who was initially discovered with serious injuries at a house in Howth.
The shock discovery was made at approximately 10am this morning. According to RTE, gardaí were called to the house following reports that a violent robbery was underway.
On arrival they discovered a woman lying seriously injured on the back patio of her home
The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital where death was pronounced shortly before 11am.
The scene was preserved for the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau to examine the get involved this afternoon.
An incident room has also been set up at Clontarf Garda Station and anyone with information to offer is asked to contact 01 6664833.

Two Arrested Over Aidan Myers Murder
Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aidan Myers, gardaí have confirmed. Mr Myers, 37, was killed by a gang who had attempted to hijack the car in which he was a passenger in Faughart, Co. Louth on December 12, 2006. He died after being attacked by a machete.

Gardaí in Cork have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Co Cork at about 19:30 on Tuesday. A 71-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after she was knocked off her bicycle at Haymount, Lower Woodstock in Carrigtwohill. Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

7kg Cannabis Seized In Dublin
Gardai have seized 7kg of cannabis after they carried out a search on a car in Dublin on Monday. It has an estimated street value of €140,000. Members of the Crime Source Unit at Mountjoy Garda station discovered the drugs in the vehicle at Belvedere Avenue. The car has been seized, however no arrests were made.

Hunt For Woman Missing In Meath
A hunt has been launched to find a woman missing from her home in Meath. Margaret Mawhinney, 53, has gone missing from her home at Trim Road in Navan, Co. Meath. She is originally from Co Armagh. A spoesman for Gardaí said Margaret's family are very concerned for her safety.

A 21-year-old man has died after being stabbed during a knife attack in Kilkenny in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to reports, the emergency services were called to an apartment at 1.30am at Larchfield Court.
