Another Arrest Over Aidan O'Kane Murder

Gardaí have made another arrest in connection with the murder of the 50-year-old dad, Aidan O'Kane.

Officers at Store Street station, Dublin, who are investigating the fatal shooting on Sunday arrested a teenage boy this morning in connection with this investigation.

He is currently detained at Whitehall Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act.

The teenager is the sixth person to be arrested in connection with the shooting, with four other teenagers being questioned at Store Street Garda Station, while a 19-year-old woman is being held in Mountjoy.

Fine Gael's Justice Spokesperson Charlie Flanagan called for tougher measures to deal with gun violence, speaking on the Morning Ireland radio programme this morning.

He also said the Dáil should hold a special debate on the fatal shooting.

Mr O'Kane was shot once in the abdomen after he chased a gang of youths who threw eggs at his home at Shelmalier Road in East Wall at around 7.15pm on Sunday evening.
