Latest Arrest Made In Sinanapayen Inquiry

Another man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Frenchman Charles Sinanapayen.

Gardaí at Bray investigating the fatal shooting of the 32-year-old in Co Wicklow arrested a man in his 20s this morning. He is being held at Shankill Garda Station under the Offences Against the State Act.

A total of four people now remain in custody in connection with the investigation.

Three people were arrested in connection with the murder on Tuesday.

Two men and a woman, all in their 20s, were detained in the Bray.

Two other men were arrested over the weekend and the five are being questioned at Bray Garda Station. The woman had since been released.

Mr Sinanapayen was shot in the head at an apartment in Richmond Hill in Fassaro, which he shared with his partner.

The 32-year-old French man died in Beaumont Hospital on Monday from the injuries sustained in the shooting.

Mr Sinannapayen's girlfriend, who was in the apartment with him at the time, was severely traumatised but otherwise unhurt.

Gardaí recovered two shotguns and a car, which they believe were used in the attack and these are now being forensically examined.
