Warrant Issued For Construction Firm Director
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Irish construction firm director, over missing contributions from workers wages.
Colm McNulty is director of Limestone Construction, and is accused of deducting contributions from workers wages of up to €80,000 that never made it into the pension fund.
Mr McNulty was due to appear in Dublin District Court on Wednesday morning, but failed to show up. A bench warrant was then issued for his arrest.
A representative from the Pension Board alleged in court that deductions were made from employee's wages but were not passed on to the Construction Workers Pension Scheme (CWPS).
The court also heard the company had failed to make employer contributions to the CWPS also, and that a total of €186,825 had went unpaid over a period of 14 months.
After initial contact from the pension board, Limestone had written a cheque for part-payment of the monies due, €60,000, but this cheque subsequently bounced.
