Suspicious Device Found At Dublin Pub

Bomb disposal experts were tasked to a Dublin pub on Sunday morning, after being alerted to the finding of a suspicious device.

Experts examined the device found outside the north Dublin Jolly Toper premises, concealed in a package located in a vehicle in the car park on Church Street, Finglas at around 8.30am.

Army bomb disposal experts then carried out a controlled explosion on a car amid fears that it might contain a bomb.

The surrounding area had been evacuated while the explosives experts carried their investigation, however, following the limited explosion, the device was declared a hoax.

However, alarm over the hoax device may have been heightened by the fact that the pub was recently the scene of a fatal shooting.

In August of this year, a man was killed and a second injured after being gunned down by masked men at the pub.
