Guns, Drugs, and Funds Seized In Dublin

An assortment of contraband and what is believed to be illegal earnings has been seized from two addresses in the Dublin area, resulting in three arrests.

Two males, one in his late 20's and one in his mid teens, were arrested at a house on Sean McDermot Street on Wednesday morning.

Gardai from Pearse Street Drugs unit carried out a search of the house where they found a hand-gun with 10 rounds of ammunition, what is believed to be heroin with a street value of €100,000, pending analysis, €40,000 worth of valium tablets and €45,000 in cash believed to be ill-gotten.

A follow-up search was carried out at a house in Balbriggan shortly after 3.00pm. In the course of the search what is believed to be heroin valued at €300,000, approximately €20,000 worth of valium tablets, various drug paraphernalia and €3,000 in cash were seized.

A third man in his late 20's was subsequently arrested and is in custody in Pearse Street Garda Station, detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

Cocaine Seizure In Co. Louth
Cocaine with an estimated street value of one million euros has been seized by gardai in Co. Louth. It is understood that 12kg of the drug were found during a raid by local detectives and members of the Garda National Drugs Unit on a house in Dunleer on Tuesday morning.

Men Arrested And Drugs Seized In Inner City Raids
Two men have been arrested and drugs seized during a planned search of a property in Dublin's inner city on Tuesday morning. Gardaí said that the search was part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs. During a search at Oliver Bond House, heroin with an estimated street value of €90,000 was seized.

Man Held Over Airport Drugs Seizure
A 30-year-old man has been arrested after customs officers at Dublin Airport seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €70,000 on Thursday. It is understood that the man, reported to be Polish, had arrived on a flight from Brussels. He was taken to Santry Garda station.
