Man Held As Operation Uncovers €1.4m Drug Factory

A Dublin drug-dealing gang has been 'dismantled' by garda following the discovery of a drug-mixing factory in the city.

Garda say the find was the result of an intelligence operation launched by the Garda National Drugs Unit, which targeted a drug dealing gang operating in west Dublin and Kildare.

Searches carried out on Wednesday night in the Celbridge and Clondalkin areas uncovered materials related to the mixing and processing of cocaine, including mixing agents, scales, blenders, a pressing machine and a vacuum packing machine.

A 21 year-old man was arrested at the scene of the seizure and is being detained at Naas Garda Station.

Another search in Simmonstown Manor, Celbridge, resulted in the find of over 20Kgs of cocaine, which has a potential street value of €1.4 million.

A spokesman for the Gardaí said they saw the disruption of the mixing factory as "a significant development."
