Fatal Fire Probed

Gardai in Clonmel are examining the circumstances surrounding a house fire at Father Terry Park, Fethard, Co Tipperary which occurred at approximately 1.30am this morning - Friday.

Gardai and units from Clonmel Fire Brigade attended the scene and human remains were subsequently discovered.

These remains believed to be those of a male, have yet to be identified and currently remain at the scene.

The scene is being preserved pending technical examination.

Meanwhile, a major blaze that broke out at a building site in Dublin was started accidentally, it is believed.

Fire fighters are currently tackling the major fire at the site in Kilmainham which started just before 1pm on Friday.

Gardaí have advised that some of the roads in the vicinity of the building site are partially closed. Motorists are also asked to avoid the area if possible.

Pensioner Dies In House Fire
A man, 74, has died in a house fire in Rathcormac, County Cork. It is unclear how the fire began, however gardai say they are not treating it as suspicious. Fire crews arrived at the scene after they were alerted at approximately 7.45pm on Sunday evening.
