Two Die In Car Crash
Gardaí at Portarlington in Laois are investigating a two-car fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately at just before 2pm on Sunday, at Annamoe, Portarlington, Co Offaly.
Two males were fatally injured - one was approximately 50 years and the other 20 years of age - and were in the same car, one was the driver and other was a back seat passenger.
Their bodies have since been removed to Portlaoise Hospital. Five other people were taken to hospital with injuries and they are believed to be not life threatening.
The deaths yesterday has brought the number of people killed on Irish roads this year to 102.
The road was initially closed for traffic collision investigations to take place.
Witnesses or anyone with information in respect of the collision are requested to contact the Gardaí at Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100.

Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision In Co Longford
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Longford on Sunday, 17 July. An 18-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in, as a front seat passenger, collided with a tractor at approximately 11.50pm in Cloonart, Bornacoola. The man was pronounced dead at Mullingar Hospital.

In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

An 18-year-old man - who was the sole occupant of a car that went out of control and collided with a ditch on Saturday - was killed in the accident.
