Gun Recovered In Dublin Murder Case

A gun has been discovered by Gardaí as part of the investigation into the murder of a 29-year-old man in Dublin.

The man was shot dead by a gunman who entered a house in Castlelyon Drive in the Newcastle area of the city shortly before 10.30pm on Thursday night.

The man was shot in front of his partner in the upstairs bedroom of the house.

Another man who was in the house was also shot. The man, thought to be in his 20's, was brought to Tallaght Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The firearm was discovered in a burned-out car that was found a short distance from the scene in Newcastle Glebe Close.

The State Pathologist has been notified and the Garda Technical Bureau has preserved the scene for forensic examination.

A man has been found shot dead at a house in Dublin. The 27-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to his neck at a house in Ashcroft Grove, Blakestown, around 8.30pm on Tuesday. According to reports, a 17-month-old baby was in the house at the time of the shooting.

Man Shot Dead In Dublin
A man has been shot and killed outside a house in Dublin. Gardaí were called to the scene where they found a man in his 20s who had been shot a number of times in the front garden of the house at Woodavens just before midnight. According to Gardaí, medical attention was given to the man at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Man Shot Dead At House In Cavan
Gardai are investigating the shooting of a man at a house in Co Cavan this morning. The 33-year-old victim is understood to have been in bed at the house in the Kilconny area of Belturbet when two men entered the room and shot him.

Murder Investigation Launched After Man Shot Dead Through Front Door
A man aged in his 60s has been shot dead at his home on Harty Avenue in Walkinstown, Dublin. It is understood the man was answering a knock on his door at about 21:30 on Sunday, when he was shot twice through the door. The gunman then fled the scene in a Honda Civic car, which was found burnt out a short time later.

Second Man This Week Shot And Killed
Finglas has seen the second man shot and killed this week, leading to the launch of a "major" investigation. Gardaí at Finglas are investigating the fatal shooting at Coldwinters, North Road, Dublin at approximately 5.10pm yesterday evening.
