Two Released in Darren McKeown Murder Investigation

The two people arrested on Tuesday morning in connection with the murder of Darren McKeown in Drogheda, Co. Louth, have been released.

It is understood that the man and the woman, both aged 19, were released on Tuesday night.

Mr McKeown, 29, died in hospital on December 29, 2006, three days after he was attacked in the Rowan Heights area of Drogheda in Co. Louth.

PSNI Investigating Fatal Collision Near Bready, Co Tyrone
An investigation has been launched following a fatal road traffic collision near Bready, Co Tyrone. At around 1.40pm on Sunday, 07 April, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the Victoria Road. When police arrived it was discovered that a white Seat Leon had left the carriageway close to the junction with Grangefoyle Road.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
A man has been released without charge after being questioned in connection with the shooting of a boy in Dublin on Friday. The six-year-old was shot in the neck in Ballyfermot. A man was detained on suspicion of withholding information. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.

Irish Household Income Increases
The gross disposable income of households in Ireland increased by €164m to €21,561m between the second and third quarter of 2013, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office. Household expenditure increased by €215m to €19,754 over this same period.

Driver Arrested After Gun Find
A 25-year-old man was arrested in Dublin yesterday after a gun was found in the car he was driving, garda have said. The car was stopped and searched at about 5.30pm on North Circular Road by gardai on patrol. Officers found a firearm and other implements in the car.
