Arrest Made In Donna Cleary Murder Case

A woman in her twenties has been arrested in connection with the murder of Dublin woman Donna Cleary in 2006.

It is understood that the woman, who was arrested in the capital on Thursday morning, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm. She can be questioned for up to three days.

Mrs Cleary, a 22-year-old mother of one from Castlekevin Road in Coolock, was shot dead at a 40th birthday party at a house in Adare Green in Coolock on March 5, 2006.

It is understood that a gunman opened fire on the house after a group of men were refused entry into the party.

A male suspect in the shooting died while in Garda custody several days after the murder.

The woman is suspected to have been in possession of a firearm on the night of the murder. Donna Cleary was shot at a house party in Adare Green in Coolock on 5 March 2006.

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.

Arrest Over Murder Of Irish Couple In South Africa
A man is reported to have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Irish man and his wife in South Africa. It is believed that the man is the 75-year-old father of the woman who was killed. The 53-year-old Irish man, who has been named in reports as Kevin McGuirk, is understood to have lived in South Africa for ten years.
