Dublin Bomb Alert Cleared

A suspected 'bomb' found in Dublin last night has been removed and taken for tests to be carried out.

Gardaí are at present describing the item as a suspect device and said it was found in the driveway of a house in Dublin.

The discovery was made on Kilmahuddrick Road in Clondalkin at 10.45pm last night.

The operation involved the house and neighbouring dwellings being evacuated.

No-one was injured.

Petrol Bombs Thrown At House In Waterford City
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack on a house in Waterford city on Tuesday night. At about 3am last night three petrol bombs were thrown at a house on Dominic's Place. There was fire damage to the house but there have been no reports of any injuries.

Pedestrian Killed In Dublin Collision A pedestrian has died following a serious road collision in Dublin. It is understood a motorcycle was involved in the incident at around 9.45am this morning, Friday 23 August, on the Malahide Road near the Artane Roundabout. The victim, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
