Victim 'May Have Met Killer On Dating Web-Site'

The mother-of-two who was found dead in a hotel in Limerick at the weekend may have met her killer through an internet dating web site, it has been reported.

The body of 33-year-old Sylvia Roche Kelly from Sixmilebridge in Co. Clare was found lying face down in the bath in a room at the Clarion Hotel on Saturday morning.

A post-mortem failed to establish an exact cause of death, but did reveal that Ms Kelly had been violently assaulted before her death.

Police have appealed for a 23-year-old man from Co. Tipperary to contact them.

It is understood that the man, who was identified from CCTV footage taken from the hotel and the city centre, checked into a room on the 11th floor of the hotel on Friday evening. According to reports, he left the hotel without checking out.

Gardaí said that they had spoken to the man's family who were co-operating with the investigation.

It is believed that Ms Kelly visited a number of pubs and clubs with family and friends before she went to the Clarion Hotel with the man.

Gardaí are now trying to establish if Ms Kelly had previously met the man.

Ms Kelly, originally from Coonagh, ran an art gallery in Sixmilebridge. She was separated from her husband and had two children, a 12-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.
