Woman Held After Lucan Gun And Drugs Find

A woman has been arrested after a firearm and a large quantity of various drugs was discovered in a raid on a house in Lucan in west Dublin on Thursday night.

The house in the Earlsfort Road was raided by gardaí around 10pm last night.

During the search, around 3.5 kilos of cocaine, 10,000 ecstasy tablets, eight ounces of what is believed to be methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia was found, as well as a revolver and a quantity of ammunition.

The total estimated value of the drugs seized is €350,000, gardaí said.

The woman who was arrested is believed to be in her 30s. She is being held at Lucan Garda Station.

Arrest Made And Drugs Seized In Dublin Raid
Cocaine with an estimated street value of €500,000 has been seized and a man arrested following a planned search by the Ronanstown Garda drugs unit. The man, said to be in his late 30s, was arrested at the scene and is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Lucan Garda station.

Cash Seized During Drug Raid
A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of €85,000 in cash at a flat in Cork city. It is understood members of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad uncovered the cash during a drug raid on a flat in Tuckey Street at about 21:30 on Tuesday night. A 37-year-old Hungarian national was arrested at the scene.

Suspect Released Following Drugs Raid
Heroin, cannabis and amphetamine worth an estimated €40,000 has been seized by gardaí during a search of a house in Thurles. Two arrests were made during the search, a woman in her 20s, who has since been released, and a man in his 30s, who remains in custody.

Off-Duty Garda Attacked With Samurai Sword
A court has heard how an off-duty garda was attacked with a samurai sword as he chased two men who had just robbed a shop. Detective Garda Shane Kelly saw the raiders flee from the scene and chased them in his personal car. When he cornered their vehicle near Lucan one of the raiders used the sword to smash the detective’s windscreen.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.
