Investigation Launched Into Model's Collapse

Gardaí have launched an investigation in to the collapse of model Katy French at a house in Co Meath last weekend.

Ms French, 24, was taken to hospital after collapsing at a party at a friend's house in Ashbourne in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She is being treated at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. It has been reported that she has suffered a series of heart attacks and it is understood that she has not regained consciousness since being admitted.

The Health Service Executive have confirmed that she is seriously ill, but the nature of her illness is still unknown.

Gardaí are trying to discover the details of what happened at the time that Ms French fell ill and to determine who was with her at the time.

It is understood that a number of her friends have been questioned about the incident.

Ms French's family, who have been keeping a vigil at her bedside since she was admitted to hospital, are reported to have been in touch with gardaí and are said to be anxious to discover what happened.

More Arrests In Sinanapayen Inquiry
Three more people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Frenchman Charles Sinanapayen in Bray, Co Wicklow. Two men and a woman in their 20s were detained in the Bray area this morning. Two other men were arrested over the weekend and the five are being questioned at Bray Garda Station.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.

Arrests Follow Mayo Assaults
Gardaí investigating two serious incidents at Ballinrobe Co Mayo at the weekend have made arrests. Having conducted a number of searches this morning (Wednesday) in counties Mayo, Galway and Sligo, officers have arrested three men.
