Man Remanded Over Dublin Woman's Murder

A man has appeared at Kilmainham District Court in Dublin charged with the murder of a woman in Dublin at the weekend.

Stephen Carney, 32, from 23 Anna Livia Apartments, appeared in court on Tuesday morning, charged with the murder of 27-year-old Amanda Jenkins, also from 23 Anna Livia Apartments.

Ms Jenkins' body was found in the apartment on James' Street on Sunday morning.

Mr Carney was remanded in custody to reappear in court on October 16.

Man Charged After 'Chess Row' Murder

Men Held Over Dublin Airport Cash Seizure
Revenue officers have seized more than €63,000 in two separate operations at Dublin Airport. Officers stopped and searched two Romanian men following routine profiling. The men were travelling separately; however, both were boarding the same early morning flight to Budapest at 6am on Monday, 15 May.

Man Charged Over Serious Assault
A man in his 20s is expected to appear in court, charged in connection with a serious assault that happened at Dorset Street, Dublin. On Sunday morning, at around 1.45am, Gardaí were called to the scene at an apartment at Kelly's Row. A man, aged in his 30s, was suffered serious injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Man Who Murdered Brother Sentenced
A man who murdered his brother following a drunken argument has been sentenced to four and a half years by a Dublin Court. Derek McGrath, 37, of Fortlawn Park, Mountview, Blanchardstown, pleaded guilty in July to killing 23-year-old Anthony at the deceased's home in October 2006.
