Fatal Crash In Co. Roscommon

A 56-year-old bus driver has been killed in a crash near Elphin, County Roscommon.

The incident involved a Bus Éireann school bus carrying around 30 pupils from Carrick-on-Shannon Community School and a van.

Three men in the van are being treated in hospital. It is not believed that their injuries are life-threatening. Over 20 schoolchildren are reported to have been taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Gardaí are investigating the scene of the crash.

A man has been killed in a collision in Galway. The car crash happened at around 2.45am this morning on the Headford to Galway Road. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Killed In Collision With School Bus
Gardai are investigating a fatal road accident, which saw a head on crash between a school bus and car on Monday evening. The crash occurred on the N13, Letterkenny to Ballybofey road. A man driving a Volkswagen Passat collided with a Bus Eireann vehicle during its regular run from Derry to Donegal Town.

Court To Set Date Over Navan Bus Crash
Dublin Circuit Criminal Court is expected to set a date today for a trial over the Navan bus crash which killed five schoolgirls almost three years ago. The hearing was postponed last week after a judge revealed there were no court rooms available, prompting criticism of the Courts Service.

Man Killed In Road Accident In Co Meath
A 31-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Kilmore, Co Meath. The two car crash happened on the M4 westbound at approximately 1.25am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Naas General Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
