Dublin Braces For Major Traffic Disruption 10–13 November

Dublin City Council has warned of significant and sustained traffic disruption around the Docklands and on approach routes from 10 to 13 November, due to the European Political Community (EPC) summit on 12 November and the EU Heads of State meeting on 13 November.

An Garda Síochána says the events will involve the largest policing and security operation in the State's history.

City-centre travel will be heavily affected on both the northside and southside, with substantial road closures around the Convention Centre Dublin and the Samuel Beckett Bridge on each of the affected days. These closures will run from 10 through 13 November.

On 12 November, Merrion Square and several approach roads on the southside will be closed, with additional prolonged restrictions around Merrion Square and Pearse Street during the evening rush hour.

Commuters are urged to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys across the city—particularly in the centre—consider their travel options, use public transport, walk or cycle where possible, and minimise car use during this period.

There will also be numerous rolling road closures from 11 November until the evening of 13 November to facilitate access to the Convention Centre and other city-centre locations by multiple Heads of State.

Further details and interactive maps of closures and disruptions will be available at www.garda.ie. The NTA and public transport operators will provide updates on their websites. Dublin City Council will display information on variable message signs (VMS) across the city and provide live traffic coverage on the Live Drive service on 103.2 FM.
