Pistol, Ammunition And €21,700 Worth Of Suspected Diamorphine Seized In Limerick
Gardaí in Limerick have seized a pistol, ammunition and suspected diamorphine as part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity and the sale and supply of drugs in the area.
The seizure was made on Sunday, August 9, when officers from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit searched a residential property on Island Road. An automatic pistol, ammunition and suspected diamorphine with an estimated street value of €21,700 were recovered during the search.
An adult male in his late teens was arrested and is being detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
The suspected drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, while the firearm and ammunition will be forwarded to the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau for technical examination.
Investigations are ongoing.

The scheme will lift the plant's population equivalent from 1,000 to 1,500, a 50% increase.
