Garda National Immigration Bureau Executes Removal of 42 Individuals on Chartered Flight

The Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) of An Garda Síochána executed an operation yesterday, Thursday 18 June 2026, removing multiple individuals from the State. The action was carried out on foot of Deportation Orders issued by the Minister for Justice.

The enforcement operation resulted in the removal of 42 South African nationals, consisting of nine adult males, 18 adult females, and 15 juveniles. Officials confirmed that all of the minors removed were part of family groups.

The individuals were transported out of the country on a chartered flight that departed from Dublin yesterday afternoon bound for South Africa, arriving there this morning, Friday 19 June 2026.

Two of the deported individuals had been convicted of offences within this jurisdiction. According to authorities, their removal from the State supports ongoing nationwide operations by An Garda Síochána.

An Garda Síochána remains in close collaboration with both the Department of Justice and the Irish Prison Service to execute these operations and implement national immigration policy.
