Major Drug Seizure and Arrest in Co. Limerick
Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit, with assistance from Regional Units, executed search warrants at two separate properties in Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, on Wednesday 10 June 2026. The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the sale and supply of illegal drugs within the region.
During the course of the searches, officers uncovered and seized a substantial quantity of illicit substances. The haul included suspected diamorphine with an estimated street value exceeding €659,000, suspected cannabis valued at more than €114,000, and alprazolam tablets worth an estimated €47,000. Additionally, officers recovered over €7,000 of suspected cocaine alongside 12 kilograms of suspected benzocaine.
Cash totalling more than €117,000 was also confiscated at the scene, furthermore a vehicle and various other items were seized by officers.
A man in his 20s was arrested during the operation and taken to a Garda station in Co. Limerick. He remains in custody under the statutory provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The confiscated drugs are being sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) to undergo laboratory analysis, while all other seized items will undergo detailed technical examination. The investigation remains ongoing.
