Gardaí Appeal After Serious Hit-and-Run Collision in Dublin 9

Gardaí and emergency services are appealing for witnesses following a serious hit-and-run road traffic collision on Shangan Road, Dublin 9, on Tuesday morning, 9th June 2026.

The incident, which took place at approximately 7.45am, involved a car and a male pedal cyclist. The cyclist, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.

The road has been closed to traffic to allow local Crime Scene Investigators to carry out a technical examination of the site, and local diversions have been put in place.

Investigating Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them. Additionally, road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make this available to the investigation team.
