Dublin City Council Launches Monthly 'Dublin by Dusk' Initiative

Dublin City Council has reminded the public that a brand-new monthly initiative, 'Dublin by Dusk', is set to launch this Thursday evening.

Taking place on the final Thursday of every month after 6pm, the initiative invites residents and visitors to explore the city's diverse evening offerings spanning culture, hospitality, entertainment, and unique night-time experiences.

The inaugural programme features late-night openings at various museums and galleries, live music and cocktail events, pottery painting sessions, evening cruises along the River Liffey, walking tours, wellness activities, exclusive hotel promotions, and late-opening hospitality venues located throughout the city centre.

Launching this Thursday, 28 May, 'Dublin by Dusk' is scheduled to run for at least 10 months to highlight the expanding variety of activities available across Dublin during the evening and night-time hours. The project is being delivered in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, Fáilte Ireland, Dublin Town, and several other city partners.

Among the participating landmarks and venues are the National Gallery of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublinia, various art bars, dedicated cocktail experiences, and a wide array of cultural and hospitality spaces.

Ray O'Donoghue, Night-Time Economy Advisor with Dublin City Council, said: "Dublin by Dusk is about encouraging people to experience the city in a different way after 6pm. People are increasingly looking for experience-led evenings and more variety in how they spend time in the city. This programme is about making those experiences easier to discover and encouraging more people to explore the city centre at night. You could start the evening at the National Gallery, go for food or drinks afterwards, take in live music, explore somewhere new and even stay overnight in the city. That is the kind of joined-up evening experience we want to continue developing across Dublin."

The 'Dublin by Dusk' campaign is part of a broader, ongoing strategy to support the evolution of Dublin's night-time economy while fostering a vibrant, welcoming, and accessible environment in the capital after dark.
