Man Charged In Connection With Robbery And Fatal Collision

A man, aged in his 20s, is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court charged in connection with a robbery and fatal traffic collision on 10 March, 2020.

Two women, aged in their 50s, were struck by a car as it fled the scene of a robbery in Killiney earlier this month. One of the women, later named as Jacqueline McGovern died as a result of her injuries.

A number of men fled the scene of the collision and a major garda operation was launched.

Three men have since been arrested and charged in connection with the incidents.

The first man will appear in court today. The two other men remain in Garda custody in Dun Laoghaire and Dundrum Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Man Dies After Car Hits Wall In Co Meath
A man has died after his car collided into a wall in Co Meath. The incident happened at around 4:55pm at Clownstown on the Dunshauhlin to Navan road yesterday, 07 April. The victim, aged in his 30's, was seriously injured and taken to Navan General Hospital. However, he was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses After Cyclist Is Hit By Bus
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a cyclist was hit by a bus in south Dublin. According to gardaí, a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bus while cycling at about 21:40 on Burlington Road on Monday night. She is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.
