Manhunt Underway After Shots Fired At Garda Officers
An investigation is underway after a shooting incident in Gorey.
Shortly after 8.30am, today Wednesday (29 January) uniform Gardai in Gorey attempted to stop a Blue BMW 318 registration 06W1012. The car failed to stop and was observed driving erratically and dangerously along the Gorey to Carnew Road. Garda was giving pursuit when the driver of the car discharged two shots from a handgun at them.
The man is described as 6' tall, slim build, Long Black Jacket, Scarf over face, wearing a hat.
This car was subsequently discovered burnt out in the townland of Banntown, Co. Wexford. Gardai are appealing for any information on the activities and location of this Blue BMW 318 06W1012 overnight and in recent days.
Gardai are appealing for any person driving or using the Gorey to Carnew Rd R725 between 0800 and 0900 this morning, in particular any person with dashcam video to contact Gorey Garda Station 053 9430690.
Gardai continue to appeal for any information on a dark grey/ black Skoda Fabia car (or similar) last seen in the North Wexford / Gorey Town/ Clogh areas.
Members of the public with information are asked to call 999.
Do not approach these males or the vehicle.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a hit and run incident that caused the death of a young Wexford student. Gardai investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which took place at Gorey, in County Wexford, on Sunday the 24th of October said they arrested a man yesterday afternoon.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on Thursday. The female who was driving the car is currently being treated at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. Gardai are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Mother And Sons Kidnapped, Beaten And Left By Burning Car
A mother and her two sons are recovering after they were abducted from their home, beaten up by a gang and then dumped by the side of a road beside their burning car. It is understood three masked men forced their way into the family's home in Arklow and ransacked the house.
