Probe As Migrants Found On Cargo Ship In Co Waterford

An investigation has been launched after eight men were found hiding on a cargo ship travelling from France to Ireland.

Gardaí were alerted to an incident in Belview, Co Waterford on Wednesday 04 December after crew discovered the men on board the ship.

All eight are believed to be adult males from Eastern Europe and all are said to be in good medical condition.

Garda Immigration Officers attached to Waterford Garda Station are currently dealing with the men and they will be processed under the immigration law.

An Garda Síochána continue to investigate all the circumstances of this incident.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Dublin on Tuesday night. At approximately 11.30pm Gardai received a report of a firearm been discharged at a house on Inverness Road in Fairview. On arrival it was discovered that a shot had been fired at an upstairs bedroom window.

Three Men Charged Over Waterford Incident
Three men arrested yesterday following an incident at a halting site in Waterford have been brought to court. The three men were arrested on public order offences and two of the men have been charged with threatening and abusive behaviour. The other man has been charged with trespass.

Two Women Arrested In Connection With Cow's Lane Death
Two women have been arrested in connection with the death of a man on Cow's Lane, Dublin on Thursday, 10 September. A man in his 20s died following a violent disorder incident last week. The two women, both aged in their early 20s, are the latest to be arrested as part of the investigation.
