Man Critical Following Dublin Assault
Gardaí are appealing for information following a serious assault in north Dublin.
A man aged in his 40s is in critical condition in hospital after receiving serious head injuries during the incident on Phibsborough Road, shortly after 7pm on Monday 07 October.
The victim was initially taken to the Mater Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont, where he remains critical.
Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made as yet.
Gardaí are appealing for any persons who were in the Phibsborough Road area between 6pm and 7pm and may have witnessed the assault to contact Mountjoy garda station on 01-6668600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
Motorists who passed through the area around that time and may have dashcam footage are also urged to get in touch.

Afghanistan Veteran On Rape Charge
A bomb-blasted former soldier has appeared in court in Belfast charged with rape and false imprisonment. Gerald Verner, 23, of Forthriver Park, who was deafened by a bomb in Afghanistan, is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and threats to kill against the same woman.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
