Probe Following Fatal Collision In Co Wexford

Gardaí in County Wexford are investigating a collision which saw a man killed on Sunday morning, 15 September.

The deceased, aged in his late 20s, sustained serious injuries when the van he was driving veered off the Arklow Road in Gorey where he was driving and struck a tree.

The driver, who was the only person in the van, later died at St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin.

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is conducting an examination.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the route and may have dash cam to contact Gorey Station on 053-9430-690, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.

Fraud Offences Sees Largest Increase In Recorded Crime
Fraud offences saw the biggest increase in the year to June 2019, according to the latest Central Statistics Office (CSO) Recorded Crime report. According to the report, the number of fraud offences recorded by An Garda Síochána rose by 34.4%; from 5,405 to 7,265 recorded incidents. The report also show that drug offences increased by 16.

Two Arrested In Connection With Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Two men have been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery in Dublin. The men, aged in their 20s and 60s, have been detained by Gardai in connection with the incident which happened on Fortunestown Way last October. Both men are being held at Tallaght Garda Station where they can be questioned for up to 72 hours.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Dublin
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information regarding a fatal road traffic collision in Dublin over the weekend. A woman, aged in her 70s, died when the car she was driving crashed on Windgate Road, Howth at about 3.20pm on Sunday afternoon.

Man Dies In Westmeath Motorway Crash, 11 Others Injured
A man has died and 11 others have been injured following a collision on the M6 in County Westmeath. The five vehicle crash happened on the M6, just after junction five on Sunday 17 March. A man in his 60's, who was driving one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
