Man Dies In Westmeath Motorway Crash, 11 Others Injured

A man has died and 11 others have been injured following a collision on the M6 in County Westmeath.

The five vehicle crash happened on the M6, just after junction five on Sunday 17 March.

A man in his 60's, who was driving one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a woman also in her 60's, was injured and taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar for treatment.

Meanwhile, the four drivers and five passengers of the other vehicles involved were taken to hospitals in Mullingar and Tullamore, while another was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin with serious injuries.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact them at Athlone Garda Station on 090 6498550.

Man Injured In Dublin Pub Shooting
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident at a Dublin pub. A man was shot and injured at a pub in Sallynoggin at about 1am on Monday morning. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. He is being treated at St Vincent's University Hospital. Garda are investigating the shooting but say no arrests have yet been made.

Man Seriously Injured In Co Louth Shooting
A man has been seriously injured in a shooting incident in Termonfeckin, Co Louth, gardaí have reported. According to gardaí the a man in his 40s was reversing his car out of a driveway when a gunman approached the car and fire five shots, three of which hit the victim in the chest, arm and leg.

Woman's Body Found At House In Co Meath
Gardaí in Co Meath have discovered the body of a woman at a house in Longwood. According to gardaí they discovered the woman's body at around 17:00 on Monday at a house in Edgeworth Court. An injured man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was also found at the scene and is being treated at Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar.

Man Dies In Limerick Collision
A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Crash
A man has been seriously injured following a crash in Dublin. The collision, which involved a cyclist and a car, occurred at around 5.30pm on the N81/Tallaght Bypass on Sunday. The man was taken to hospital and is believed to be in a serious condition. One man has been arrested.
