17 People Arrested In Warrants Search Operations

Gardaí have arrested 17 people in a series of raids in the Tallaght and Rathfarnham areas.

Garda staged a "day of action" on Thursday 27 June in an operation targeting people wanted by the courts for various drugs, burglary, theft, road traffic offences and public order matters offences.

It is understood that all those arrested remain in custody and will appear in courts over the coming weeks.

Separately, another Garda search operation in Saggart, Co Dublin led to the seizure of two luxury cars, worth approximately €60,000. This search was part of an investigation into money laundering.

Major Search Operation Ongoing For Missing Jet-Skier
A major search operation is ongoing on Lough Ree in the Midlands after a woman went missing while jet-sking. The operation was launched on Sunday evening after a woman failed to return to shore at the lake, which borders Westmeath and Longford. Irish Coast Guard Helicopter, RNLI crews, civil defence and sub-aqua clubs are involved in the operation.

Major Drug Seizure Made In Limerick Search Operation
Cocaine, cannabis and MDMA worth more than €140,000 has been seized by Gardaí in a raid in Limerick. The seizure was made during a search operation in the Castleconnell area of the city on Sunday, 11 August. They found €120,000 worth of cocaine, €20,000 worth of cannabis herb, along with MDMA and shotgun cartridges.

Garda investigating the 2004 disappearance of Patrick Lawlor have begun a search operation at a derelict site in Dublin. Mr Lawlor has not been seen since around 6.30am, on the morning of 16 December, 2004, when he left his home in Darndale, Coolock, Dublin.

Missing Climbers Return Safely
Four climbers who were reported missing in County Mayo yesterday have returned to their car safe and sound today. Local people alerted the Mayo Mountain Rescue Team after the group of tourists, all from the UK, failed to return from Mweelrea before dark last night.
