16 People Arrested In Garda Operation In Kilkenny

Gardaí from Kilkenny and Carlow have carried out an operation in Kilkenny to prevent crime, disrupt criminal activity, apprehend criminals and to enhance Community engagement.

The operation included Garda checkpoints and Community Gardaí informing members of the public to increase awareness of protection of personal property and possessions.

During the course of Wednesday's operation, 16 people were arrested for a variety of offences including theft, robbery and burglary.

A number of persons have appeared before the Courts and others will appear before the Courts in the near future. A further 16 people were also arrested on warrant.

In addition, An Garda Síochána together with the Department of Agriculture have seized 30 horses in the Wetlands area of Kilkenny.

The horses have been removed to a safe environment.

Over 660 Motorists Found Speeding Over Easter Bank Holidays

Cannabis Seized In Tarelton, Co Cork
Gardaí in Co Cork have seized cannabis worth an estimated €500,000 during a search of a house in Tarelton, near Macroom. A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure. Garda said the latest find is part of an ongoing operation targeting drugs in the area. Three people have been arrested to date.

Man Jailed For Running Brothel
A Dublin man has been sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of running a brothel in the city. 44-year-old Martin Morgan was also hit with a €24,000 fine.

Man Arrested Under 'Operation Muster'
A man has been arrested in County Tipperary as part of an "ongoing investigation into organised crime" in the south-east. Gardai detained 12 people in Kilkenny, Waterford and Tipperary following raids at many different premises under 'Operation Muster'.
