Two Arrested After Cocaine Worth £70K Seized In Westmeath
Two people have been arrested after cocaine worth £700,000 was seized in County Westmeath.
Gardaí believe their investigation has disrupted one of the most significant drug operations in the western region.
It was the latest in three seizures of large quantities of the illicit substance by the Athlone-based Garda Drugs Unit in the last year.
Officers searched a house in Kilnamanagh at around 7am on Thursday 14 February where the drugs were found.
A man and a woman, both in their 20's, were arrested and taken to Athlone station.

New Powers Allow For Roadside Drug Testing
The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross has announced the commencement of the drug driving provisions in the Road Traffic Act 2016. One of the key measures in the legislation provides for Preliminary Drug Testing, which will enable Gardaí to test motorists whom they suspect of driving under the influence of drugs at the roadside.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

€100,000 Worth Of Cocaine Seized and Man Arrested
A man has been arrested and is being questioned in connection with the seizure of more than €100,000 worth of cocaine. The 37-year-old was arrested in Dublin city last night by gardai from Store Street station investigating the sale and supply of the drug.

Two Arrested Over Finglas Drug Seizure
Gardaí have seized drugs worth an estimated €63,000 during a search in Finglas on Monday morning. Gardaí seized cannabis herb, cocaine and cash during the raid on a house in Berryfield Drive. A man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, were arrested at the scene. Gardaí say that a file is being prepared for the DPP.
