Man Arrested In Connection With Co Monaghan Cannabis Seizure

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of herbal cannabis, worth an estimated €70,000, by Revenue officers during a search operation of a house in Castleblaney, Co Monaghan.

The search was the result of a joint intelligence-led operation targeting drug importations in the Castleblaney area, involving Revenue, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, Regional Support Unit and Gardaí from the Cavan Monaghan Drugs Unit.

The Lithuanian man was arrested by Gardaí and detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí Arrest 45 In Major Drugs Operation
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and “crack” cocaine in the Dublin region. Man Arrested Over €380,000 Ecstasy Find
Gardaí have uncovered ecstasy worth an estimated €380,000 during a planned search in Clondalkin. Officers carried out a search at Oak Rise on Saturday night at about 20:20. Alongside the ecstasy, a small quantity of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.

200 Cannabis Plants Found In Co Kerry
Cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of €160,000, were discovered by gardai in Rathmore, Co Kerry, last night. Officers from the Kanturk Drug Unit carried out a planned search of a house near the town, uncovering some 200 plants at various stages of growth. The scene has been sealed and a technical examination is underway.
