Cyclist Killed In Collision With A Truck In Kilkenny

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Kilkenny on Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 5.35pm a male cyclist, aged in his 40s, was fatally injured when he was involved in a collision with a truck at Newpark Drive. The cyclist was taken to St. Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the truck was uninjured in the incident.

The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.

Gardaí wish to appeal for witnesses to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056-777 5000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Woman Killed After Collision With Truck
A driver has been killed after her car was in collision with an articulated truck. Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic collision on the N24 about 2km from Kilsheelan in Coounty Tipperary, at about 9.50pm yesterday. The woman, who is in her 20s, was killed when the car she was driving was in collision with an articulated truck.

Man Killed In Offaly Crash
A man in his 50s has been killed in a crash in Offaly this morning. The crash occurred on the Bracknagh to Monasterevin Road when an articulated truck he was driving left the road after 8am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Collision In Co Kildare
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Athy, County Kildare. A female pedestrian, aged in her 60s, died after she was struck by a truck on Duke Street at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, 13 February. Emergency services treated the woman at the scene but she was pronounced dead a short time later.
