Garda Investigate Sudden Death In Co Donegal

Gardaí have appealed for information following the sudden death of a man in Buncrana, Co Donegal.

The body of a man, believed to be aged in mid-40s, was discovered at a house in Oakfield Close at approximately 6.30pm on Sunday, 18 March.

A post-mortem is due to be carried out at Letterkenny University Hospital but garda have reported they believe the man died from natural causes. However, it is understood that "some unexplained injuries" were found on the man's body. Garda have said the nature of the injuries appear to be consistent with a fall or perhaps the result of being in a collision.

It is understood that gardaí are investigating if the man's death might be linked to an earlier report of a single vehicle collision on 17 March at Slab Road in Burnfoot.

When garda arrived at the scene of the collision they found a white Renault van, but there was no one at the scene.

A full technical examination of the van is underway.

Anyone who has information about the collision of the man's death is asked to contact garda.
