Herbal Cannabis Worth €60,000 Seized In Tralee
Up to 3kgs of herbal cannabis has been seized in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
As part an intelligence-led operation conducted jointly by Revenue Officers, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, as well as the Tralee Garda Drugs Unit, a search operation was carried out across a number of residential addresses in Tralee town today, 09 March.
The illegal drugs, valued at €60,000, were discovered concealed in household linen and had originated from Thailand.
Two men, aged 43 and 27, were arrested by Gardaí and taken to Tralee Garda Station for questioning. They are detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice ( Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing with a view to prosecution.

A search of a Dublin address yesterday evening led to the arrest of a man and recovered a cache of cannabis worth nearly €200,000. According to Gardaí this morning, the find is part of an on-going investigation carried out by members of the Crime Task Force attached to the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Dublin that led to the discovery of an estimated €500,000 worth of various drugs. A 37-year-old man has been arrested after Gardai discovered what is believed to be 15 kilos of heroin at a house in Lucan yesterday evening. It is believed to have a street value of €2.25million. The man is being detained at Clondalklin Garda station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
