Fresh Appeal For Information On Death Of Joe Deacy
A fresh appeal for information has been launched into the death of Joe Deacy in County Mayo in August 2017.
At approximately 6am on Saturday 12 August, Mr Deacy (21), of St. Albans in the UK, was discovered outside a house at Gortnasillagh, Swinford with head injuries. The alarm was raised by a passer-by and Gardaí and Emergency Services attended the scene.
Mr Deacy was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital and later removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Sunday evening, 13 August.
Gardaí are making the following appeal: Did you see anyone or any vehicle in the vicinity of Gortnasillagh or the N5 between Swinford and Bohola on Saturday 12th August between 2.30am and 7am. Have you any information that could assist the investigation team?
While gardaí thanked the community for their assistance so far, the said that they believed that people in the community have information and have not yet come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 25 0025.

Gardaí are appealing for information after a 27-year-old man was shot in a Dublin housing estate on Saturday night. The victim has been named as Robert Donoghue. He was shot at least once in the shoulder at around 23:00 on Saturday in Kinsealy, Co Dublin, according to gardaí.
