Woman And Child Critical Following Apartment Fire

A woman and four children have been injured in an apartment fire in Inchicore, Dublin on Monday night.

A woman, aged in her 30s, and an 8-year-old boy are said to be a critical condition following a fire at an apartment block on Tyrone Place at approximately 11.15pm.

The woman is being treated at St James's Hospital. The boy, understood to be the woman's son, is being treated at Our Lady's Children's Hospital.

Two other children, a 13-year-old boy and seven-year-old girl, also remain in hospital but it is understood that their conditions are not serious.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway and gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Stabbed In Athy
A woman has been stabbed in Athy, Co Kildare. The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was stabbed just before noon, on Tuesday. She was taken to Naas General Hospital and was treated with minor injuries. Gardai have launched an investigation. No arrests have been made.

Woman Dies In House Fire In Co Clare
A woman has died in a house fire in Co Clare. The victim, in her 50s, was alone at the property in Derrynavaha, Craggah, when the fire started at around 7pm on Sunday night. Gardai are currently investigating the incident.

Woman Dies In Limerick House Fire
A woman has died in a house fire in Limerick. The fire broke out at the house in Daly Avenue at around midnight. The woman, aged 47, was the only person in the property. She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she was pronounced dead. Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious.
