Cannabis Worth €730,000 Discovered Hidden In Farm Equipment
A man has been arrested in connection with the recovery of cannabis from farm machinery in Co Tipperary.
The suspect, who is in his 50s, was arrested as part of ongoing intelligence-led investigation by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Serious Crime Task Force and the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service.
The cannabis, which has a street value of €730,000, was discovered following the search of a haulage vehicle that had arrived into Ireland on Friday, 30 June.
Follow up searches were subsequently conducted in the Moneygall area of Tipperary and as a result, the man was arrested on Wednesday, 05 July.
He is currently detained at Nenagh Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
