Man Killed In Co Offaly Collision
Gardaí in Co Offaly have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on Thursday, 18 August.
A man, aged in his 60s, was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with a truck on the N62 between Cloghan and Birr, shortly after 4pm.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The collision occurred approximately half way between Galross Cross and Kennedy's Cross at Galross East, Cloghan, Co Offaly.
The road has been closed to facilitate an examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators and traffic is being diverted.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact garda.

A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was killed when the car she was driving was in collision with an articulated truck.

Man Dies In Galway Crash
A man has been killed in a road crash in Co. Galway. The two-car collision happened on the main Gort to Ennis Road near the Galway-Clare border around 7:30am this morning. The victim is understood to be the driver of one of the vehicles, while the driver of the other vehicle was also injured and has been taken to hospital.

Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision In Co Longford
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Longford on Sunday, 17 July. An 18-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in, as a front seat passenger, collided with a tractor at approximately 11.50pm in Cloonart, Bornacoola. The man was pronounced dead at Mullingar Hospital.
