Six Arrested In Co Meath Amid Allegations Of False Imprisonment

Six people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into allegations of human trafficking in Co Meath.

It is understood a planned search operation was launched on Thursday night after officers in Castletown, Kilpatrick, Navan, became concerned about the welfare of a Romanian man.

During the operation, three men, two women and a female juvenile were arrested and are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at various Garda Stations in the Meath Division.

According to reports, up 20 people were found in the house at the time of the operation.

Investigations are ongoing.

Investigation Launched Into Armed Robbery In Co Meath
An investigation has been launched following an armed robbery at a shop in Kildalkey, Co Meath At approximately 17:45 on Thursday, two males entered a shop armed with a hand gun and an iron bar. They threatened staff and removed an amount of cash before leaving the store. It is understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car.

Man Injured in Co Meath Shooting
A man has been injured in a shooting in County Meath. The attack happened at a house in Dowth, at approximately 9.45pm on Sunday. The victim was shot a number of times in the upper body and his leg. He is currently being treated at Our Lady of Lordes Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Three Held After Meath Explosives Find
It has been revealed that a quantity of explosives and detonators were discovered in a car stopped in Co Meath. The seizure followed an operation carried out by gardaí last night, Both uniform and detective police officers from Navan and Kells were responsible for stopping a car near Kells.
