Pedestrian Killed By SUV In Co Louth

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the Slane Road in Drogheda.

A male pedestrian, aged in his 40s, died in hospital after he was struck by an SUV at about 10.20pm on Wednesday night, 11 August.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

The scene of the collision has been sealed to allow for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, which is expected to take place this morning.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact garda.

Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a fatal road traffic accident in County Waterford on Wednesday, 09 September. A man in his 50s was seriously injured when his motorcycle hit a wall on the R448, near Waterford City, at about 17:15. He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford where he was pronounced dead.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Co Wexford Road Accident
Garda in Wexford have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident on Tuesday evening. A man in his 60s has died in the single vehicle collision at Clone, Ferns at about 6:20pm last night. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The scene remains closed pending a forensic examination.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Road Accident In Co Mayo
Gardaí in Mayo have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Ballyhaunis late on Wednesday night. A 45-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a car at Grallagh shortly before midnight on 16 December. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Mayo General Hospital for Post Mortem examination.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.
